So, I just couldn’t wait anymore before I made the new index page live.  You can see it at snowstones.com because it’s so much fun! 😀

Mark’s still working on coding for the family tree program.  It’s complicated to get the exact right look, but it’s coming along on the ‘practice’ pages and I’m hoping it’ll be live sooner than later.  Added to the complexity of the already complex code, there’s all the CSS for the ‘family banner’ of everyone’s faces that I just retouched and added a few people to…  I like to keep things interesting!

I did find a little more information on one of the people on my ‘Stone List’ for the British Home Children but nothing that links anyone to Annie.

According to this mailing list I found yesterday, Mabel Stone’s sea chest, much like the one we have for Annie, is apparently still in existence.  I’m mucking about in the archives for a few of these Rootsweb Mailing Lists now… I should probably join a few – but it takes me half an hour to sort through my mail on a daily basis to start with.

Annnddddd…  Further information, including the original posting on a Simcoe list with further history about Mabel Stone.

Oh, how I wish there was a picture of Mabel so I could compare it to Annie.  Not that it’s at all a scientific way of doing genealogy, but, really what we need are those files released from Waif and Strays.

Another book, to add to our eternally growing list of needs…  Neither Waif nor Stray, The search for a Stolen Identity by Perry Snow.  I believe this gentleman is running the mailing list I’m poking about in.  It’s not the same as the website we joined a while back, http://www.britishhomechildren.org/ but some of the same people are involved I believe.  Definitely all something I need to investigate more…  Probably once the revisions are complete with the sites.

But… for right now, my bread is almost complete it’s second rising, and soon the house is going to smell like fresh baked bread, spicy chili that’s on the menu for tonight, and sound like a herd of elephants with all the kids home…  So I think that’s all the updating I have for today!

I also just wanted to add that it’s Gran’s Birthday today, and she’s been on my mind all day.  She would have been 84 years old today…  She’s been missed every day that she’s been gone.
