Obituary: Brenda Kay Wolfgram Moore

Sadness touched our day when news of a distant cousin’s passing reached us.  Brenda was a generous woman, with her time and her knowledge.  She was an excellent genealogist and her contributions to our family trees are a legacy of accomplishment.  May she rest in peace.

Obituary:
Brenda Kay Wolfgram Moore passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Munson Medical Center. Brenda was born on Nov. 7, 1946, in Traverse City, to the late Benjamin B. and Erma J (Kratochvil) Wolfgram.

Together with Jerry M. Moore, she raised two loving children: Tami Kay and Michael Todd Moore. Brenda enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, a lover of music and family get-togethers, and had a deep passion for Genealogy. She will be remembered for her many contributions and dedication to the Grand Traverse Area Genealogical Society where she held many hats as newsletter publisher, webmaster and Vice President. She was the founder of the French Canadian Society and was a regional expert on French-Canadian genealogy research. She helped countless with their family research and generously donated her extensive genealogy collection to area libraries, museums and history centers. Although afflicted with many health issues she continued to smile and maintained her sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her two children: Tami (Dave Seger) Moore, Mike (Monica) Moore; three grandchildren: Brittany and Justin Moore and special adopted grandson, Ben Seger; one brother: Benjamin (Barb) Wolfgram; one nephew: Ben Wolfgram; four nieces: Shawn and Rene Wolfgram; Jenifer Willey, Cindy (Willey) and Jerry Henderson; and several grand nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Nona Wolfgram Willey and nephew Steven Wolfgram.

Brenda requested a celebration of her life, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 from 3-6pm at Timber Ridge Hall – 4050 Hammond Road East, Traverse City, MI 49686.
