The Grey Gua
The Grey Gua is a point of understanding and expanding. Here is where
one would focus on becoming enlightened, or travelling to various places to
absorb different cultures and experiences.
A Wishing Box
In a Feng Shui book I'd read years ago, there was a notion I've been stuck on
ever since. In the Wiccan and Pagan traditions a ritual of wishing, and
then releasing the wishes, is often prescribed for those with wants and desires
they haven't yet acquired. This Wishing Box is a combination of what I
once read, and the Pagan views I personally hold. Modify this tradition to
suit you and your lifestyle.
The Grey Gua is a center of Chi involving spiritual and physical growth.
Sometimes we want to grow, but don't know how. The Wishing Box helps us to
pinpoint what our dreams, wishes, needs, wants and desires are. Once we
have a more accurate view as to what is realistic and what is fantasy, we can
plan our goals accordingly, and allow ourselves to dream freely.
Step One:
To focus on the Grey Gua, I suggest that the Wishing Box should be silver,
brushed grey metal or a similar grey coloured substance. A wooden box
painted grey could work as well. In choosing your box remember that energy
and focus make your Chi stronger and your intention more powerful. Choose
your box knowing that it is going to be the holder of your wishes.
Step Two:
Take some private time in a quiet place. Take a notebook and pen with you,
so you can record your thoughts and ideas. I suggest special paper to
write your actual wishes on, so that you make a small ritual out of recording
each wish. Begin by making notes of things that you want, places you want
to see, things you need. Your lists can be extensive and selfish, no one
is counting! This is completely about your fantasies becoming a reality.
Once your lists are complete, out of the three areas take three of your most
important wishes. Record each wish on a separate piece of special paper.
Don't worry about them being perfect, as long as you know what you mean, the
intention is there. Roll your wishes into little scrolls, you could even
tie them with a small bit of red ribbon if you'd like.
Step Three:
Select a spot where your Wishing Box will remain undisturbed, but in plain sight
so it does not go forgotten. Place the box within your Grey Gua with full
intention of making your wishes come true. Once your box is placed, open
it up and place your special wishes inside it. Your Wishing Box is
complete!
About once every month you should open your Wishing Box just to check on your
wishes. If your wishes have come true, burn your pretty little wish paper
to release your concentrated energies so they may be refocused. Add a new
wish from your list, or take some more time to reflect on new needs. Most
of all, enjoy this time focused on you and getting to know the you on the
inside.

Consider posting postcards of exotic
locations you've visited, or dream of visiting within your Grey Gua to encourage
travel.
Your Grey Gua is the perfect place to keep
a shelf of knick-knacks from various trip locations, or photos of family trips.
One great idea is to collect leaves or shells from different vacation locations,
and keep them within your Grey Gua to promote happy memories and positive Chi.
Special 'Dreaming' Pillows within your Grey Gua might inspire peaceful moments of reflection and fantasy. Simply find some comfortable grey or silver fabric and stuff them according to your personal comforts, then leave them tossed about in your Grey Gua. Every time you pass them by, you'll have thoughts of time for you.
