The Rose is a very special flower. For a long time standing they have conveyed the message of true love and undying devotion between loved ones. They stand for love, respect, courage and true inner beauty. Women are often compared to such an elegant flower, and indeed the name "Rose" or other variations of the word have become a popular name for female children. The Rose is the Queen of the garden industry, even rising above the famous Orchid, because they are not nearly as temperamental as the long and spindly competition.

Red Roses Generally the red rose stands for true love. It conveys respect and admiration, even adoration. To give a red rose bud signifies that the emotion is young and tender, it expresses a deep value for the receiver and a purity of the newfound love. For a woman to carry a bouquet of fully open crimson roses denotes she is in mourning.
White Roses White roses traditionally stand for innocence, purity of heart and love. To give a white rose bud to someone signifies love that is pure in blooming, innocents and the need to cherish. A full bouquet of open white roses could also denote secrecy in regards to a special love affair. White roses are traditionally the colour of flowers to give young girls or women, they are the sacred flower of youth. To give someone withered white roses can mean one of two things. Either the giver is suggesting fresh spring beauty soon fades, or they mean to suggest that you made no decent impression on them. Dried white roses convey the message "Death is preferable to loss of Virtue".
Pink Roses Pink roses are a general symbol of grace and caring admiration. Shades of roses are very important in meaning as far as pink roses are concerned, chose a dark husky shade to represent gratitude and appreciation, or a light pink hue to convey admiration and sympathy. To give a pink rose bud to someone symbolizes romance and the desire to further a new relationship.
Yellow Roses The yellow rose is the traditional colour of friendship and cheerfulness. It is common to give a bouquet of yellow roses to someone who has recently been suffering an illness. Yellow rose buds are meant as a symbol of encouragement, to urge people to recover quickly, to stand strong and have perseverance over hardship.
Peach, Champagne, Coral and Orange Roses The deeper the shade of these roses the more they signify the intensity of the emotion of the giver. Orange and coral roses stand for lustful desire, an excitement or anticipation for physical pleasure. Peach and Champagne roses stand for blissful happiness, a melding of the physical and the romantic to produce a perfect love. To receive Champagne bud roses states a request for faith in the sender, they ask for belief and sincerity in any given response.
Blue and Violet Roses Recently in Flower Shops all over the world there has been a new addition of roses to buy, blue or a soft lavender colour, these blossoms stand for one thing alone: Uniqueness.
Split Colour Roses Some roses come two toned, or multicoloured, if you receive roses of this fashion, pay special attention to the two most distinctive colours and then attempt to read into their meaning. White and red together stand for unity, they are the national flower of England. Yellow and red roses stand for jovial happiness.
Leaves Because of their colour and the nature of support that they lend the blossom, leaves generally stand for hope and stability.
Thorns A thornless bouquet of roses signifies Love at first Sight. If a bouquet of roses is received and the thorns have been removed, it is a gesture of tossing aside fear and holding onto hope. If by chance all thorns and leaves have been removed, it signifies that there is nothing to fear, and nothing to hope for.
Breeds of Roses - To receive the Moss rosebud conveys a confession of love from the sender.

- Bridal roses suggest never ending happiness, commitment and true love.

Other things to watch for: - Two roses of separate blossoms intertwined to form one stem indicate the announcement of an engagement or an up coming marriage.
- A fully opened rose on the same stem as two unopened buds suggests secrecy.
- To receive roses every month suggests the simple message "Your Beauty is Ever New"
- To wear a crown or garland of roses suggests superior merit, virtue, and exalted beauty.
